DOSIMETRIC MONITORING OF WORKERS UNDER IONIZING RADIATION IN CAMEROON
What is a dosimeter?
A dosimeter is a device used to precisely measure the dose received after ionizing radiation exposure by an individual/technician/radiologist… during professional or other activities related.
How to wear your dosimeter?
It is worn at chest level, using the crocodile clip (for workers), or under the lead apron.
Inspection practice and frequency
You, as a professional worker, are given a dosimeter that you wear for a well-defined period mentioned on the dosimeter (monthly or quarterly), during working hours under ionizing radiations.
You return the dosimeter after the wearing period.
This dosimeter will be analyzed in the dosimetry laboratory to measure the dose you may have received, and thus: protect yourself from the risks linked to handling or being exposed to ionizing radiation ( Radiation Protection Measures ),and take urgent measures for your protection.
Dosimetric monitoring must be regular.

Quelle Règlementation Nationale régit le Suivi Dosimétrique des travailleurs exposés au Cameroun ?
In accordance with the NATIONAL REGULATIONS IN FORCE according to the provisions of
‘Articles 26 to 29 of the Law No 2019/012 of July 19, 2019 of ASRAN’

To ensure optimal monitoring, wearing a dosimeter is mandatory and must meet several conditions.
X-rays and radioactive sources represent a danger to humans. For this reason, it is very necessary to carry out rigorous and permanent monitoring of all exposed workers.
